Doritos, Chevy Pave Way to Consumer-Created Super Bowl
Following in Chevrolet's footsteps, Doritos has announced it, too, is asking people to create their own Super Bowl commercial focusing on how Doritos fit into a person's life. According to the promotional site, the process is simple. "Shoot it. Submit it. We'll pick the top five and from those, America will vote for its favorite. What happens with the winner? We debut it as a Doritos commercial on Super Bowl XLI." Who needs an ad agency anyway?

I think that, as an encore, the NFL is going to announce a promotion to let fans submit full playbooks for the Super Bowl, with Dick Jauron picking the finalists and thousands of armchair quarterbacks voting on the winner.
Then the Colts will have to run plays out of said book for the entire game...because 1) Peyton Manning may be that much of a corporate shill, and 2) he's Peyton Manning, so the Colts won't win the big game anyway.
The way this fly over city kid sees it Forrest Gump's mom was right when I consider either GM or Doritos" and their recent advertising "stupid is as stupid does."
Why stop there? Let’s have America judge this year’s award show entries too.
Gosh. Super bowl ads are gonna suck this year.
Obviously they are going to get redone, reedited, and re-everything by an ad agency anyways. To me this is the venture capatalism of Advertising. Pay a little bit to a nobody with a big idea, then put big money into and make it great.
Adbration, you been drinking boy, or did ya fall down and hit your head today?
I'm a nobody with a big idea.
