Adrants Fails to Notice Brooke Burke Burger King Viral

burger_king_brooke.jpg

Perhaps we should consider being a bit less jaded around the Adrants offices since it seems to be causing us to ignore what, at times, turns out to be a pretty good story. A day or two ago, like many other people, we received some strange images of Brooke Burke with the Burger King king and we figured...screw it...just another one of the hundreds of pieces of crap passing through the bloated Adrants Inbox so we, religiously, deleted them and went on with our day. Now, we see AdFreak put one of the pix up and has pointed to some sites that have combined the images to hokey music. Well, once you have more than one offbeat image it simply has to be...yup...yet another Burger King viral effort from the beloved Crispin Porter + Bogusky.

Because of our overly jaded viewpoint, we apologize for bringing you sloppy seconds but, even Adrants has to suck once in a while, right? So enjoy. There's are image/music collages here and here. And here's a collection of the images over at Buzznet. We promise to check our jaded pompousity at the door each morning now and be sure to look twice when we receive these witty viral teasers. Of course, we could have been right all along and this really is just a bunch of random Burger King, Brooke Burke pix.

beloved crispin, part of the 'zero' blog you love?

maybe you didn't notice because it was, um, not attention-getting? sheesh, sometimes you forget that the purpose of ads is to get noticed, not to be uber-cool or to pay homage to the agency du-jour.

i type this as a hum 'i'd like to buy the world a coke'

Yeah, what Dave said.

Whether Crispin is behind this or not, it's utterly lame and unworthy of attention.

On a related note, it's pathetic how hard Crispin is working to turn the King into an iconic pop figure à la the Energizer Bunny or Ronald McDonald -- as if putting him in more commercials and "witty viral teasers" (sarcasm alert) will make him anymore endearing to the public at large. The King may have a small cult following -- what the hell, so did Mr. Whipple -- but most people seem to find him either creepy or dopey. But hey, as long as those "krazy kreatives" at Crispin manage to amuse themselves, what else matters?

You we're right to pass on this the first time. I've never seen anyone make more wrong second guesses than you guys. The King is as lame as he's ever been. Even being seen with the beautiful Brooke can't rehabilitate his creepy homo vibe.

As an everday consumer (yay!) the new Burger King freaks me out and it's why I won't go there (plus, hey, I got In-N-Out).

But, to harp on transparency - was it obvious that the email was from Crispin? How far does transparency go in guerilla marketing? Where is that line in the sand? As noted above, the Zero blog was called out pretty fast as crap and marketing, but other stuff gets a free pass.

Just throwing that out there.

Checkout the video footage to be even more creeped out. Anyways I think its genius, but that's just me I guess.
